The Insurance Authority (IA) today (1 February 2019) alerted the public to a mobile application called Planto, which uses the logo of Sun Life Hong Kong Limited (Sun Life) 1 without the insurer’s authorization. Sun Life has confirmed that it has no connection with the mobile application.
Anyone who has provided personal information to the mobile application concerned or has conducted any insurance transactions through the mobile application should contact Sun Life at 2103-8928 or 3183-1888, and report the case to the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau of the Police at 3660-7315.
