Insurance Authority expands youth outreach to promote lifetime risk management awareness among secondary school students

As part of the ongoing public education efforts, the Insurance Authority (IA) launched the new edition of Inter-School Quiz and Challenge on Lifetime Risk and Protection in the first quarter of 2026 for secondary school students from Form 4 to Form 6. With participation from more than 2,200 students across 58 secondary schools, the campaign deepened the students’ understanding of the importance of lifetime risk management and protection.

In collaboration with the Financial Education Centre of the Hong Kong Family Welfare Society (HKFWS), an online quiz competition – supported by tailored online learning materials and teacher‑guided interactive classroom discussions – was conducted to instil the concepts of insurance protection and financial planning. As revealed by the evaluation survey, 72% of the participating students strongly agreed or agreed that the campaign enhanced their relevant knowledge; and 74% indicated their willingness to improve their financial behaviour.

To enrich the learning experience, the IA also organised an on-campus event cum prize presentation ceremony for the top winning schools from the online quiz competition. The on-campus event covered a series of interactive game booths and themed challenge sessions featuring online influencers Freeeboyzzzz, to enable students to gain knowledge about lifetime risk planning, insurance fundamentals and responsible spending habits. As experience sharing, a representative from the Hong Kong Federation of Insurers (HKFI) shed light on her career development journey in the insurance industry.
