Insurance Authority hosts Insurance-linked Securities Conference

The Insurance Authority (IA) today (30 May 2025) hosted a second edition of the Insurance-linked Securities (ILS) Conference which was attended by around 100 insurance practitioners, institutional investors and professional service providers from around the world.

Mr Stephen Yiu, Chairman of the IA, said, “This event is aimed at satisfying the growing interest in making use of ILS as a tool for alternative risk transfer and deepen market understanding of its nature as an attractive investment product. The IA will spare no effort in fostering a holistic ecosystem that embraces data harvesting, risk modelling, product innovation and talent development in order to strengthen the competitiveness of Hong Kong as a global risk management centre.”

The conference featured two panel discussions focusing on current landscape and latest development of the ILS ecosystem as well as trends and strategies of ILS investment respectively, followed by two concurrent breakout sessions.
