The Insurance Authority (IA) today (8 April 2025) wishes to alert members of the public to a phishing email from an email address namely “info@prudential-hk[.]site” that contains a link luring recipients to visit a fraudulent website with the domain name of “hxxps://prudential-hk[.]site/ID/prudential/HK/terms[.]php” which intends to defraud personal and credit card information. The aforesaid fraudulent website purports to be the official website of an authorized insurer of Hong Kong, Prudential Hong Kong Limited (Prudential). Prudential has confirmed that it has no connection with the phishing email and fraudulent website.
The case has been reported to the Hong Kong Police Force for further investigation. Anyone who has provided personal information to the fraudsters or has conducted any transactions through the fraudsters should contact Prudential at 2281-1333 and report the case to the Hong Kong Police Force.
