The Insurance Authority (IA) launched a youth campaign for tertiary students comprising both campus outreach and online elements in March 2025 which successfully reached out to totally around 2,000 participants. The campaign, featuring two popular local singers YT Chow and Cath Wong as the campaign ambassadors, aims to raise the younger generation’s understanding of the concepts of risk management and the importance of insurance in transferring and mitigating different risks experienced throughout their lifetime.
The IA, partnered with the Hong Kong Federation of Insurers (HKFI) and the Metro Broadcast, reached out to the campuses of three tertiary institutions1 on 21 and 27 March. Through interactive games, around 180 participating students learned about insurance fundamentals, effective risk management strategies and career opportunities in the insurance sector in a fun and dynamic way.
In addition, students were able to have more in-depth exchanges in the sharing session with industry veterans from the HKFI and young management trainees from the IA on the social function of insurance and the industry’s contribution to the financial sector. The speakers also gave a glimpse into their professional journeys, enriching the youngsters’ understanding of the industry and enlightening them when charting their own career paths.
Another component of the youth campaign was an engaging online personality quiz based on different life scenarios to convey messages about risk management and introduce features of different insurance products.
This campaign is part of the IA’s ongoing efforts in engaging the younger generation. The IA will continue to work closely with the industry in reaching out to the youth to promote insurance education and attract talents to join the industry as their lifelong career.
