The Insurance Authority (IA) today (30 November 2022) wishes to alert members of the public in Hong Kong to fraudulent websites with the domain names of “http://sun-lifegroup.info” and “http://sun-lifegroup.net”. The aforesaid websites purport to be the official websites of an authorized insurer of Hong Kong, Sun Life Hong Kong Limited (Sun Life). Sun Life has confirmed that it has no connection with the fraudulent websites.
The case has been reported to the Hong Kong Police Force for further investigation. Anyone who has provided personal information to the aforesaid websites or has conducted any transactions through the website should call Sun Life’s Customer Service Hotline at 2103-8928 and report the case to the Hong Kong Police Force.
Any company carrying on insurance business in or from Hong Kong must be authorized by the IA under the Insurance Ordinance (Cap. 41). The full list of authorized insurers in Hong Kong can be found on the Register of Insurers on the IA website.
