The Insurance Authority (IA) today (23 February 2022) alerted the public to phishing emails from fraudsters who purport to be insurance intermediaries of Sun Life Hong Kong Limited (Sun Life), an authorized insurer in Hong Kong, and solicit customers to purchase intellectual property insurance which is not within Sun Life’s scope of business. Sun Life has confirmed that it has no connection with such promotion activities.
Anyone who has provided personal information to the fraudsters or has conducted any insurance transactions through the fraudsters should contact Sun Life at 2103-8928 and report the case to the Hong Kong Police Force.
