Website with false or misleading information related to an unauthorized insurer

The Insurance Authority (IA) wishes to alert members of the public in Hong Kong to a website with the domain name “https://www.baozhu.co” containing false or misleading information about an entity named “Baozhu Insurance/寶珠保險” (Entity). This Entity is not and never has been an insurer authorized by the IA under the Insurance Ordinance (Cap. 41) to carry on insurance business in or from Hong Kong.

Anyone who has provided his or her personal information through the website concerned or otherwise to the Entity, or has conducted any financial transactions through the website or otherwise with the Entity, should contact the IA by phone at 3899-9983 or by completing our online complaint form.

Members of the public are reminded to verify the status of any entity making use of the internet to solicit insurance business from the public. The full list of authorized insurers in Hong Kong can be found on the Register of Insurers on the IA website.
